7th Annual Dinner & Auction Review
|
The
Auction was staged this year at the John Q Hammons Conference Center at the Portland Airport Holiday Inn on Saturday, April 25th. We were
exited to try a new (yet familiar) venue for our 7th
Annual event. In addition to the Debonairs, the Parkrose H.S. Jazz
Band ensemble provided pre-Auction entertainment.
Incorporated
into this years Auction was our first efforts to engage Alumni
representing past PHS graduates, with special recognition to Class of
1969 and 1942 groups in attendance. We look forward to continuing
our outreach to past students and hope other class representatives
will join the fun next year.
Results
of the 2010 Auction, again allowed us to maintain a $20,000 general
grant budget. This year's appeal bid garnered $9859.50 in
support of the Districts long term commitment to enhancing music
centered opportunities for instrumental instruction and performance.
A special appeal was also entertained in support of the 2010 Outdoor
School Program, adding $2625.00 to the already extraordinary
fundraising effort championed by the programs sponsors committed
to offering an Outdoor School Program this year.
We are
indebted to all of our sponsors, donors, and guests, who without
their energy, time and enthusiasm in support of the Auction, we would
not be successful. Thank you!!!

6th Annual Dinner & Auction Review
Considering the economic challenge faced by the entire community, we highly respect our donors commitment and the efforts of our volunteers to make the event a clear success.
Funds from the Auction are targeted for 2009-2010 grants and immediate purchase of new electronic teaching aids used in the classroom. The subject of our Appeal Bid was to acquire new student response monitoring tools that provide immediate feedback in gauging the understanding of points just made in that days instruction. This real-time assessment allows a teacher to place further emphasis on key points, while offering the ability to provide individual reinforcement.
Enhancing the educational experience of students in the District is the Foundations Mission. Support from donors makes that a reality. Please know you are contributing to the growth of students as future leaders in the community. Please join us again in 2010, as we take another step in that development!

5th Annual Foundation Dinner & Auction
The 2008 Parkrose Educational Foundation Auction was another big success with net proceeds of over $22,000 The Holiday Inn-Airport accommodated 225 guests bidding in both a silent and live auction format. An on site demonstration of a Prometheus Smart Board was a highlight of the Auction. $7,000 of the proceeds were dedicated to purchasing two Prometheus instruction tools for classrooms in the District. The use of this technology accommodates data base information access through the internet with visual display capabilities that advance the use of a traditional blackboard into the realm of current electronic technology.
The Foundation remains dedicated to advancing the educational experience of students with the District and will using proceeds from the Auction to grant a variety of funding requests over the next year.
Our Auction Committee is busy getting organized for next year, with the Auction planned for Saturday, April 25th, 2009. We are grateful to the support we receive from local businesses, donors throughout the region and volunteers that make the Auction possible. Please make your plans to attend next years Auction!!!

4th Annual Dinner & Auction
The 2007 auction was an incredibly successful event. The 4th Annual Parkrose Educational Foundation Dinner & Auction that was held on April 28 exceeded our fund raising expectations! Because of your donation Parkrose schools and students will be able to access the extra financial resources they will need throughout the 2007-2008 school year.
This year we exceeded last years net of $22,000. Also the Appeal Bid, dedicated to the New Sound of Achievement, which will fund amplification systems at Shaver and Prescott Elementary schools, received an amazing response from our supporters. $7,000 was raised for that one item, demonstrating your commitment to offering our students the best educational facilities possible.
Our donors and auction attendees will allow us to continue in our mission to enhance the educational experience of students in the District. Thank you for your dedication to our students and schools.
We are already setting our plans for next year and sincerely hope everyone will be participating in our 2008 Auction! We have slated this event for Saturday, April 26, so save the date!

3rd Annual Dinner & Auction
The 2006 Parkrose Educational Foundation Auction was another huge success. The event was staged at the Holiday Inn Portland Airport which provided a very accommodating venue for a charitable auction. In all, the Auction raised over $35,000 with $10,025 dedicated solely to the Promising Futures program a district-wide homeless student emphasis project.
150 attendees enjoyed the Ron Horton Band followed by an excellent dinner. The live auction was again hosted by our auctioneers, Pat n Pat Brothers and complemented by the DJ experience of Scott Thom KISN radio. The Hats off to Parkrose theme included a hat judging contest with lots of options to consider as many participated and everyone enjoyed the fun. One lucky guest won the opportunity to select one of the Live Auction items, before they went up for bid. They had purchased a $50.00 ticket for the chance at having their name drawn. Several of the choices before them were valued at over $1,500. Auction proceeds also help meet the Foundations commitment for grants requested by teachers, staff and students throughout the year.
The 2005-2006 grant budget was $10,000. By the end of the fiscal year more than $10,000 was awarded to various projects and activities throughout the District. We are looking forward to the 2007 Auction, Rolling out the Red Carpet for Parkrose Students!
